The Nike KD 4 Aunt Pearl made its debut back in May of 2012. This heartfelt Nike KD release honors Kevin Durant’s late Aunt Pearl who passed away in 2001 due to lung cancer. Ever since the Nike KD 4 Aunt Pearl release, Nike and Kevin Durant have released “Aunt Pearl” iterations of some of KD’s signature models. For Holiday 2024, the Nike KD 4 Aunt Pearl is slated to make its long awaited return. The Nike KD 4 Aunt Pearl commemorates the nurturing influence that Aunt Pearl had on Kevin Durant. Done in a bold Pinkfire II/Black-Metallic Silver color scheme, some of the defining features on the sneaker include Aunt Pearl’s memory etched with a pearl graphic on the shoe, symbolizing the Think Pink campaign that support breast cancer patients. The sneaker also comes with Aunt Pearl’s dedication on the inside of the midfoot strap, as another meaningful tribute. The predominantly Pink upper is contrasted by the Black detailing on the branding, all while being place atop a translucent Pink outsole.
