LeBron James isn’t in Rio with Team USA right now but he must be there in spirit or something because Nike has decided that they’ll be releasing his latest sneaker in a Gold Medal theme/colorway.

The Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10 gets the Gold Medal treatment as the shoe’s upper has been done in a pristine White with Metallic Gold detailing landing on the LeBron and Nike branding as well as on the speckling on all three straps. USA has also been added on the heel in gold while an icy blue translucent outsole wrap things up. Look for the Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10 Gold Medal at select Nike retailers on August 22nd for a retail price of $140.

Kyrie Irving and Team USA are only two wins away from capturing the highly coveted gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. With the semifinal game against Spain taking place tomorrow, USA hope to come out on top and play in the gold medal game on Sunday.

Kyrie Irving and Nike hope that Team USA proves to the world that they have assembled the best team in the world by winning the gold medal. The day after the gold medal game Nike will be releasing Gold Medal colorway of the Kyrie 2, KD 9, and LeBron Zoom Soldier 10 in what they hope will be celebratory colorways. Here are official pictures of the Nike Kyrie 2 Gold Medal which is completely covered in University Red on the entire upper with the only contrast being hits of Metallic Gold that can be seen on the upper eyelets, and the Nike and Kyrie Irving branding on the midsole, strap, tongue, and heel.

After previewing the sneaker yesterday, we now take a look at official images of the upcoming Nike KD 9 Gold Medal that give us a much better look at the shoe.

This patriotic colorway of the KD 9 comes with Dark Obsidian all over the Flyknit upper with a vibrant red landing on the inner liner, upper eyelets, and the KD branding on the heel. Finishing things off is Metallic Gold which can be seen on the Swoosh logo as well as the “USA” writing on the heel tab.

Multiple players on this iteration of Team USA have claimed that winning a Gold Medal in the Olympics would be just as important, if not a better alternative to winning an NBA Championship. Kyrie Irving won’t ever have to worry about one or the other, though, as the reigning NBA Champ sunk a game-winning three-pointer in Game 7 in the NBA Finals and then decided to suit up for the red, white, and blue and play under his former college coach Mike Krzyzewski this summer. Nike Basketball is already celebrating the quest for another Gold Medal with their upcoming Team USA “Gold Swoosh” Pack featuring this near-all-red Kyrie 2 Gold Medal out August 22nd.

With Team USA currently atop the Men’s Olympic Basketball standings at an undefeated 6-0, it looks like Kyrie will accomplish that rare feat of winning both an NBA title and an Olympic Gold Medal in the same year. Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Nike Air Safari creation has received the retro treatment countless times before but has since been on a little hiatus. NikeLab has updated the famed late-80s printed silhouette with the Nike Air Safari Royal, a premium menswear lifestyle take on the retro that paired a deconstructed suede upper with Vachetta Tan leather support for a head-turning albeit expensive twist.

The Nike Safari is back today in that “Royal” treatment featuring a mix of materials that provide both comfort and durability that will carry over from season to season. This Dark Grey rendition pairs embossed Safari speckles on the toe and ankle collar with just the right amount of Vachetta Tan on the midsole and inner lining for a look appropriate for any occasion. The Nike KD 9 Gold Medal utilizes an ominous Obsidian upper to match Team USA’s road uniforms while Metallic Gold branding on the Swoosh and a ‘USA’ heel tab nods at the intentions of America’s dominant Olympic basketball program. Throw in University Red on the lining and a pristine icy outsole, and this could be the cleanest KD 9 pair to date. Team USA and Durant still have a lot of work to do in order to grab that Gold Medal during the elimination rounds ahead, but here’s to hoping that they pull things out.

The successor to the Roshe One is now unveiled with the Nike Roshe Two, led by designer Dylan Raasch.

Built for comfort in its entirety — underfoot comfort (a combination of stability, support and cushioning), upper comfort (contoured, dynamic fit) and long-lasting comfort (a responsive system) — the new silhouette features a minimal stretchable/breathable upper that forms to its wearer?s foot, while lofted grooves add flexibility and a supplemental foam layer provides additional cushioning.

Combined with a new, tri-fusion IU midsole, it also features three unique densities to deliver targeted compression and durability. The lowest density is directly underfoot for enhanced cushioning, while higher surface density on the outsole provides impact protection.

The Nike Roshe Run, a merely a casual lifestyle shoe that rests on simplicity, is the brand’s most successful sneaker of the 21st century. It lacked any true innovation, and dinged us for a paltry $70, and was built on basic foam soles and mesh uppers. It’s a bit ironic that this type of shoe reached the level of sales it did, considering Nike is a brand built on technology and puffs its chest anytime it discovers the next great footwear creation.
