This Nike Air Presto Mid Utility Drops Tomorrow
By SoleInsider
The newly-introduced Nike Air Presto Mid Utility will be offered in a number of colorways for its inaugural lineup this Fall/Winter 2016, as one notable highlight consists of this black/metallic gold pair.
Essentially a revamped makeover of the classic silhouette that inherits boot aesthetics, the retro runner incorporates a weather-resistant stretchy, sock-like upper, extended collar with zippers for easier accessibility and stylish flair, as well as reflective detailing throughout.
Black dominates the majority of its profile, while metallic gold is prominent on the lacing cage system, toe cap and branding on the tongue. Finally, white and yellow is implemented across the heel, midsole and outsole to further pronounce its design.
You can purchase this standout pair at select Nike retailers starting tomorrow, November 3 for $140.
Recently offered in colorways of Purple Smoke, Noble Red and Tan, the Nike Air Unlimited is revealed in another tonal finish for this Fall/Winter 2016 season.
The vintage basketball sneaker is essentially treated in a traditional palette with stealthy black covering its entire smooth leather upper, neoprene bootie construction, distinctive cross-pull strapping system across the mid-foot and laces. A crisp white rubber sole unit juxtaposes the overall profile to create a simple and clean two-tone finish.
You can expect to find this model at select Nike retailers soon for a retail price tag of $180.
I?m a fan of the classic design and this colorway is a stylish/versatile pair. I still prefer the previous tan version though, just because it?s a bit more stylish.
Look For The New Nike Special Field Air Force 1 This Weekend
By SoleInsider
To follow up on its recent official introduction, a lifestyle editorial of the newly-introduced Nike Special Field Air Force 1 — Nike SF AF-1 — is featured, as it’s the next generation of the iconic silhouette.
Maintaining its signature design profile intact, the model exudes a military vibe with its dual set of removable straps, alongside premium full-grain leather throughout the upper. In addition, ballistic nylon is also implemented along the rear side panels to provide even more weather resistance for the fall/winter season.
Showcased in colorways of black, white and brown, you can find each pair in women’s ($185) and men’s ($200) sizes at select Nike retailers starting November 5th.
I’m not really into high-cut designs much, but, this new rendition of the silhouette is pretty solid. It balances style and functionality perfectly, plus the colorways are versatile.
Somewhat similar to the recently released Kobe 11, the Nike KD 9 is treated in another Oreo-inspired finish to follow up this past summer’s iteration.
The sneaker’s upper dons a creamy white finish with black accents prominent on the toe box, tongue label and Swooshes across its side panels, while the stealthy hue continues throughout the midsole and outsole. In addition, subtle white speckling is implemented on the midsole unit to further pronounce the overall makeup.
An official release date for this pair has not been announced yet, although, stay tuned to KicksOnFire for further updates.
Official images of the Nike KD 9 Game Royal, also known as the “On-Court,” has released, as the this rendition of the basketball silhouette is scheduled to release later this month.
As suggested, game royal blue dominates its overall profile, while contrasting black accents are implemented across its flyknit upper, laces, inner lining and outsole to further pronounce its design. Additional details include crisp white Swooshes gracing the side panels and a black ?KD? logo prominent on the back heel.
With its suggested retail price set at $150, you can purchase this model at select Nike retailers starting November 23.
The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Silver Surfer Really Shines
By SoleInsider
With the Dr. Doom iteration returning next month, this newest variation of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro continues the Fantastic Four theme next year with a Metallic Silver ? ?Silver Surfer? finish.
This time showcasing how the silhouette is perceived when worn, the sneaker’s defining shimmering hue is pronounced with a carbon fiber print across its entirety for a more distinctive look. Its simple two-tone color scheme is completed with contrasting black accents adorning the tongue, eye stays and inner lining, while more shiny elements with the Swoosh logos adorn each side panel. Finally, a translucent outsole finishes off the overall makeup.
Priced at $250, you can expect to find this standout model at select Nike retailers starting March 2017.
This style is one of my favorite bball sneakers, so I?ll always be an advocate. The finish is pretty clean and I like the carbon fiber detailing throughout.
Debuting at Complex Con this upcoming weekend is the Anti Social Social Club x Nike Air Force 1 Low, limited to just 24 pairs. Featuring the brand logo on the heel and “WEIRD” on the custom tongue, this Air Force 1 Low will be raffled off during both Complex Con event days (12 pairs per day). This is just one of the AF1-centered plotlines going on that weekend, as Nike is poised to debut the SF-AF1 in the white colorway in addition to teaming up with Stadium Goods for a massive liquidation of Air Force 1 classics. Stay tuned for more developments as we near the inaugural Complex Con this weekend.
Nike Kobe AD Reveal: Paying Our Last Respects To The Black Mamba (Kinda)
By SoleInsider
“Hey, is Kobe ok? Why are you in a mausoleum?” is an actual text I got after they watched my Instagram story on the Nike Kobe AD reveal. Needless to say, if Nike and Kobe Bryant wanted to portray this event as the wake of Mamba the player, they got the job done.
Inside a dimly lit warehouse in Los Angeles lays Kobe Bryant, NBA legend. Ok, he’s not really dead, but rather the chapter of his life where he was a five-time NBA champion and one of the greatest of all-time has moved on to the other realm. It was fitting that the event took place on November 1st, also known as the Dia De Muertos (The Day Of The Dead) and that the shoe was called the Nike Kobe A.D.; it’s almost like they plan these things in advance.
The “mausoleum” was adorned with all things Kobe, from old signature shoes to retro jerseys to historical pictures and other symbols of the legacy that Bryant is leaving behind. If this wasn’t a media event, I could easily imagine this setup being something you would see in a movie. I can’t even imagine how die-hard Kobe fans in Los Angeles would react to seeing this surreal tribute to Mamba. The candles on the floor and the monuments set the solemn ambiance and there was even a signature book that people could write messages to Kobe. Me doing me, I wrote, “Mamba, I can’t believe we’ve been calling you Mamba for all these years. Never stop shooting…”
Like those who celebrate Dia De Muertos (or all All Saints Day in the Philippines because we do it too), it was a time to be sad in a way, but it was mostly a time to remember what Mamba meant to all of us.
Even when Kobe did show up (because he’s not dead, ok?), we could see that this was a different launch event for him. He still wants to create the next great basketball shoe because his mentality – his Mamba Mentality, if you will – won’t allow him to produce a less than stellar product, but he’s not also thinking about having to deal with a game the next day or having to watch Nick Young throw up an ill-advised three-pointer at the worst possible time. Kobe will still talk about the Nike Kobe AD and all its performance features and all the technical stuff, but it’s more about the big picture and totality of what he’s accomplished that seems to be the focus this time around. He’s still Mamba, but he’s a peaceful Mamba. Maybe it’s the beard…
The Nike Lupinek Flyknit Releases This Thursday In Tan
By SoleInsider
Nike Sportswear championed the whole sneakerboot movement dating back to a couple of Fall/Winter seasons ago, but it wasn’t until the Swoosh brought back their iconic Nike ACG imprint that things started to get truly serious. The Nike Mowabb retro might not have caught the attention it deserved (perhaps the high price point was to blame) but that Tinker Hatfield creation was simply overshadowed by the likes of the Nike ACG Lupinek Flyknit. Today we get a look at the latest colorway from the weather resistant Flyknit offering, as a subtle tonal “Tan” look will arrive at retailers on November 3rd for $300 USD.
We already know that the Nike Lupinek Flyknit will be releasing in upcoming “Triple Black” and “Cargo Khaki” colorways on the same day, but the Tan aesthetic takes on a slight variation from the regular color blocking thanks to an off-white Flyknit base and tan accents on the premium leather ankle collar and durable mudguard.
The Swoosh even updated the Nike Lupinek Flyknit with a memory foam collar and Nike Free-inspired SFB outsole which now comes standard in all Lupinek releases. Both men’s and women’s sizes will drop on November 3rd so be on the lookout for this premium Nike ACG lifestyle offering to land at select retailers and on Nike.com.
Official Images And Release Information For The Nike Kobe A.D.
By SoleInsider
Last week the NBA season got underway, but Los Angeles Lakers fans felt a feeling of emptiness since this was the first time in 20 years that the team entered a season without Kobe Bryant. So that probably means that his signature sneaker line with Nike is over, right? Nope.
Nike took to the time today to officially introduce Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoe, the Nike Kobe A.D. Kobe Bryant?s first post-retirement signature silhouette continues a legacy of lightweight, low-profile on-court footwear. Combining a Zoom Air unit in the heel, Lunarlon foam in the midsole and a minimal rubber outsole (with micro-tread traction), the shoe provides responsive, flexible cushioning and maximum court feel. A breathable mesh upper with incorporated Dynamic Flywire, ensures lock down for quick changes of direction toward the basket or to cover an opponent.
The Nike Kobe A.D., with a suggested retail price of $160, releases November 21 at nike.com and select retailers. What are your thoughts? Will you be copping a pair when they release?
Mt first reaction is that I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. It’s “OK” for now. I look forward to seeing these in person and trying them on. I’d also like to see what other colorways Nike will cook up in the future.
Several College Teams Would Love This Nike KD 9 Release
By SoleInsider
We’ve already seen a number of Nike KD 9 PEs throughout the pre-season and the first week of the regular season, but we’re excited to see the numerous Golden State-themed colorways to follow throughout the year. The college basketball season is on the horizon too, and this upcoming November release of the Nike KD 9 Game Royal would fit perfectly into the Duke Blue Devils and Kentucky Wildcats PE rotation. We’ve already seen Coach K’s squad laced up with both a “Duke Home” and “Duke Away” KD 9, but can you think of any other NCAA squads that would benefit from this near-all-blue colorway?
The Nike KD 9 Game Royal utilizes the premium bolstered Flyknit construction with a marbled royal blue and black woven aesthetic throughout. A contrasting white Swoosh hits the side panel while an electric blue midsole nearly camouflages the visible 3/4 Zoom Air technology. The lining hits in a stark black to contrast. What do you think of the look?
Check out more official images of this upcoming KD 9 release below and be on the lookout for this pair to hit global retailers and Nike.com on November 23rd for $150 USD.
How many new styles of the Nike Presto can Nike Sportswear think of? The early 2000s running model has been as popular a retro from the Swoosh as any given its forward-thinking design, unique cage overlay, and a plethora of colorways with prints and graphics included. Of course, Flyknit had to be included in a revamp as did a weather-resistant upper and additional zippers for a more high-fashion aesthetic spearheaded by the folks over at ACRONYM. Today we get a look at one more overhaul in the Nike Presto Extreme.
The Nike Air Presto Extreme goes fully cage-less and instead opts for a new midfoot strap similar to the one found on the Nike Kyrie 2. The wrap-like midfoot section splits the shoe in half where a traditional neoprene toecap contrasts a bolstered ventilated sports mesh on the heel. The slip-on construction stays as does the original midsole and outsole unit. So far, we only have this Black/White colorway to show off courtesy of Inflammable, but we’re excited to see what other colorways are headed our way. What do you think of the Nike Presto Extreme?
Stay tuned for more updates regarding this new Nike Presto model right here on Sneaker News. Release date info coming in the near future.
Kobe Bryant And Nike Move On From Numbered Signature Shoes With The Kobe A.D.
By SoleInsider
Today, Nike officially unveiled the Kobe AD, the first post-retirement shoe for Kobe Bryant. Unlike other Black Mamba-branded performance basketball models like the Venomenon line, the Kobe A.D. is indeed considered a signature shoe. Technically, you’re looking at the Kobe 12, but Nike is doing away with the numbered system and the Kobe 11 is the last numbered signature shoe you’ll see from the Black Mamba – for now.
It’ll take some getting used to because every other signature line in history has progressed by way of numbered volumes, but with Kobe as the centerpiece, it shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment. It’s also a clever way to differentiate from the pool of signature shoes that currently populate the basketball market. This new development also leaves us to imagine what Nike will call the Kobe A.D. shoe after this installment, or what a Flyknit-laden “Elite” model could look like!
The Nike Kobe AD will release on Nike.com and Nike SNKRS on November 22nd with an MSRP $160.
The latest Nike model to rock the “Nai Ke” branding is none other than the Nike Cortez. This special edition version of the Cortez comes dressed in a classic White and Red color scheme with a pop of Blue appearing on the medial side Nike Swoosh stripes. The ?Nai Ke? Chinese characters are found on each heel to complete the China-themed Nike sneaker. Said to be a quickstrike and China exclusive, the shoes are set to drop on November 9th. Do you wish these had dropped in the states? Let us know in the comments below.
