Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 Urban Haze Releases On December 20th

The Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 followed one of the most popular releases of ’95 with the original Uptempo. (You can read more of that model via our Flashback to ’95 installment). Nike Is Relaunching The Air Max Uptempo 2 In Simpler Colorways

Nike has big plans for this coming Holiday 2016 season including the surprise retro of the Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 for their “12 Soles” Christmas campaign. If the tonal olive colorway that unifies the upcoming release slate isn’t for you, then this premium Black/White offering would be a nice alternative.

The Air Max Uptempo 2 has long been a favorite of those nostalgic for some 90s basketball as the high-top even featured added graphic patterns on the 180 degree Air Max unit. Here the unique midsole is toned down thanks to a matching white on white shade while premium suede accents compliment the sports mesh in a matching black shade. Are you excited for the return of the Uptempo 2?

The release date is still unknown for this simple Back/White colorway but stick with us right here on Sneaker News for more of the latest updates. More to come in the near future.

I like this new interpretation of the silhouette. The pattern is a cool look, but, in terms of comfort and weight, it should be more versatile as well.

Nike Air Max Plus Fuse Le Requin Pack Releases On November 23rd

The Nike Air Max Plus goes predatory for a special “La Requin” pack this fall. For those that are proficient in French, ‘la requin’ translates to the shark, a nickname given to the original blue colorway of the Air Max Plus in France due to its similar look to the fiercest hunters of the sea. With this concept, NikeLab has created two similar looks for the Air Max Plus featuring two shades of aqua blue to mimic the look of sunlit water reflecting off a shark’s skin, each with white gradient fades to the sole to represent the white of the marine beast’s belly.

The NikeLab Air Max Plus “La Requin” pack surfaces at select retailers and on the Nike SNKRS app on November 23rd for $175 each.

It’s still versatile enough for all genders. The colorway is pretty appealing and it’s a solid option for the ladies this season.

NBA 2K17 Kicks: Building A Nike Air Foamposite Dr. Doom That Makes Sense

This week the ill-named Nike Air Foamposite Pro Dr. Doom gets a retro release. Rehashing my objections about the sneaker is practically a party game at the KoF Offices (“take a shot every time Juan complains about the Doom Foams”), so we won’t bring them up again (for now). However, what we can do is make a pair of Foamposite Pros that is actually apropos of the name Dr. Doom. How? With NBA 2K17 of course…

Victor Von Doom’s primary colors are Forest Green and Silver with Gold accents highlighting his belt and cape. There’s a few ways we can get the Doom vibe on the Foams, so we just did them all, including an Infamous Iron Man version, which is Doom’s take on Tony Stark’s armor. It’s… a complicated story that we probably shouldn’t get into right now.

NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 13 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 12 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 11 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 16 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 7 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 6 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 5 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 15 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 9 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 10 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 8 NBA 2K17 - Doom Foams 14

And just to show you we’re I’m not totally against the black and white colorway (which is was already pre-made in 2K17), here’s a look at our creations in the game side-by-side. I’m all for a simple colored pair of Foams, but they need to be set free from its horrible name.

Which one is your preferred pair of Doom Foams and would you rather have these than the one that shouldn’t be named Doom (takes shot) but is dropping this week?

Calling all Nike Air Huarache fans, a new colorway recently dropped and we’re here to provide you with some updated imagery. Rocking a color scheme any Boston Celtic fan would love, let’s get a closer look.

The Nike Air Huarache starts off with a Sail color for the base. Giving the subtle underlay some life are the Pine Green and Gold Leaf hits noted on the side panels, heel cage and tongue branding. A little bit of Grey hits found throughout give the shoe a finer color blocking motif. Out now, pick up a pair of your own for the retail price of $120.

Author’s Take

It’s been a minute since I’ve picked up a new pair of Huaraches. With that said, these are pretty dope especially with the clean color blocking.
