The question is not if, but who will be giving rising star Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks his own signature sneaker. The “Greek Freak” had a very impressive season in 2016-17 with an even more impressive performance in the postseason proving that he has what it takes to one day be the face of this league. And that day may come sooner than you think.

At the moment Giannis is under contract with Nike, but he is already being courted by competitors adidas and Li-Ning. adidas already sent him a van full of of goodies, including Yeezys, Ultra Boosts and apparel. His contract with Nike expires at the end of the month and he is in line for a big pay day.

According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, “ultimately, brands are looking for Antetokounmpo to lead his own signature line of sneakers, with design input and hands-on feedback along the way. In conversations this week with Adidas, Nike and Li-Ning, each is offering a signature shoe that would likely launch during the 2018-19 NBA season. For this upcoming year, he’d lead a series of player exclusive editions in Bucks hues of each brand’s current featured models, like the Adidas Crazy Explosive 2017, Nike Kobe A.D. or Li-Ning Yu Shuai 11.” One thing worth mentioning is that Chinese brand Li-Ning is a serious suitor in these talks as they can offer Giannis the most money with an offer of more than eight figures annually. The contract could also possibly feature an equity or stock component, something that Nike and adidas will not offer.

As the week winds down, each brand is expected to present an initial five-year contract offer and engage in negotiations with Antetokounmpo’s representatives at Octagon Sports. Should Antetokounmpo opt to sign an offer sheet with either adidas or Li-Ning, Nike can fully use its match clause and take up to 20 business days to decide whether or not to let Antetokounmpo walk.

Arriving at retailers this Saturday is one of the most savage-themed sneakers of all-time with the Nike Air More Uptempo Knicks.

Many people argue that the 90’s was/is the best era for basketball as many of the game’s best players of all-time were battling for supremacy at the time. The Bulls and Knicks were two of those teams that were always at the top of the standings. This upcoming Air More Uptempop (Scottie Pippen’s signature shoe) is inspired by the iconic dunk that Scottie threw down on Patrick Ewing during the 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinals.

This Air More Uptempo is meant to represent that moment as it features a white perforated leather upper with royal blue detailing on the ?AIR? branding that runs down to the midsole and outsole, as well as the embroidered Nike Swoosh on the toe. The highlight of the shoe is undoubtedly the silhouette graphic on the insoles of Scottie’s dunk over Ewing.

The Nike Air Zoom Marih Flyknit Racer will soon be releasing in another Multicolor pair as today we give you a first look at the sneaker.

Just like the first pair that dropped when the silhouette made its debut earlier this year, this iteration of the Mariah Flyknit Racer takes on a rainbow-like appearance all throughout the knitted upper with contrasting black accents on the Swoosh branding, ankle, tongue, laces, heel counter, part of the midsole, and the rubber outsole. A white midsole has been added as the final touch.

Mache Customs decided to add an 11th sneaker to the collection as he recently created a custom OFF-WHITE x Nike football cleat for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas. How many of you are old enough to remember when Nike SB used to place heel branding on the Nike SB Dunk High? Nike SB used to place miniature logos onto the side-facing heel area of select Nike SB Dunk High releases back in the late ?90s and early ’00s. It now looks like the motif will be returning to the model this Fall season.

Above you will see two new colorways of the SB Dunk High set to grace the classic heel branding. The two pairs are said to be a part of a U.S.-themed drop that has yet to be officially unveiled. A color combination consisting of Red, White and Blue take care of both leather uppers. The Nike SB heel branding also comes in the same motif while also utilizing a star silhouette placed right on the Swoosh. No word on when these will be dropping, but early reports suggest we see these release in November.

The latest news surrounding the upcoming Air Jordan 3 Katrina suggests that the pair releasing to the public will not be coming with Nike Air on the heel. Some of you may not like that decision but it makes sense since the original exclusive Katrinas didn’t come with Nike Air either.

Set to drop May of 2018, the Air Jordan 3 Katrina is a colorway that was made exclusively for a charity auction to support the relief efforts from Hurricane Katrina. Opting for a subtle finish, the shoe comes with a White leather upper offset by the Cement Grey, Black and Fire Red hits found throughout. Jumpman branding is said to be found on both the tongue and heel of the shoe. Nike Air or Jumpman on the heel, does this affect your decision to cop?
