Introducing the Nike Zoom VaporFly Elite Flyprint, also known as Nike’s fastest ever shoe. The Nike Zoom VaporFly Elite Flyprint was developed in collaboration with Eliud Kipchoge, the runner who famously ran the fastest marathon ever in Berlin last September.
What makes this model stand out? The Nike Zoom VaporFly Elite Flyprint is the latest evolution of the VaporFly Elite and VaporFly 4%. Since both of those silhouettes were so dominant on the 2017 marathon circuit, Nike designers decided to maintain the tooling and focus instead on updating the upper using 3D technology. The newly innovated Nike Flyprint performance-printed 3D upper is paired with a full-length carbon fiber plate, while durable rubber on the heel is included to protect against abrasions. A signature NikeZoomX midsole unit offers support and comfort. What you end up getting is a running shoe that is 11g lighter than the Nike VaporFly Elite and features increased breathability while absorbing less moisture.
This model could end up being Nike?s first real move into 3D-printed technology. Could we soon be seeing 3D-printing tech on currently existing silhouettes?
The Nike Zoom VaporFly Elite Flyprint will release in ultra-limited numbers the week of April 16 via the Nike App for $600 to celebrate the London Marathon on Saturday.
