Sneak Peak At The Nike KD 9

Nike KD 9 2 Charlie Brooks Heidi Burgett Nike KD 9 1

No, it’s not an all-white sneaker. Although this is (obviously) not an image of the actual Nike KD 9, this is a miniature figurine version of the shoe that gives us a good idea of what the shape of the shoe is going to look like.

This molded mini version of the Nike KD 9 was actually posted by Jordan Brand digital manager Danny Nunez. Nunez added in the caption of the image, #KD9, which leads us to believe that this will be KD’s next signature shoe. The 3D printed replica of the shoe appears to have a mid-top build along with a deep groove at the lateral forefoot just like we saw on the KD 8. One feature missing on the shoe that we’re used to seeing on some of the KD models is the removal of the strap we usually see on the upper. Usually KD’s signature models don’t release until late June or early July so we’re going to have wait and see what this miniature figure means for the future of the Nike KD 9.

The Nike LeBron 13 Elite has finally been unveiled, and today we’re here to give you a first look at how the shoe differentiates from the original, non-elite version of the Nike LeBron 13.

The Nike LeBron 13 Elite gets several performance and technical upgrades that include features such as a durable Kurim cage upper that changes the aesthetics of the shoe. Other new features include the carbon fiber shank and the full-length bootie. In addition to that there are also two additional hexagonal Zoom Air-sole units on each shoe to improve the feel of the shoe once you lace them up. All these new features are designed to work together to create a better, stronger and lighter shoe to help to LeBron James reach the promised land. The Nike LeBron 13 Elite will release on April 14th in the Red colorway, May 5th in the White colorway, and May 26th in the Black colorway. Initial thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

The new features definitely make it an Elite version, but I’m just curious to see if people will want to spend the extra money on a pair that looks very similar to the non-Elite version.

Nike SB Re-releases The First Ever Janoski

A true sequel to the Nike SB Stefan Janoski still hasn’t happened. That fact is more of a testament to how insanely popular such a simple silhouette has been in Nike SB‘s lineup while still remaining a valid on-board performer for skating traditionalists. It’s a similar success story to the Zen-like quality of Nike’s Roshe Run that showcased design still matters to consumers in today’s ever-growing hype machine. Today we get some good news as the first ever Nike SB Janoski to hit retailers is getting a retro treatment. The OG black and white pair featuring a gum bottom is returning to shelves in the near future featuring the classic canvas construction. It’s a little funny that we’re calling a shoe less than a decade old an “OG”, but in the modern hyper-busy release cycle, it’s something we’re seeing more and more of. Check out a few shots below and know that spots like Premier will be stocking this Nike SB icon.

Is This Nike SB Dunk Low Hemp A 4/20 Release

Never a brand to shy away from the herbal implications of the date 4/20, it looks like Nike SB will once again be celebrating the stoner holiday with a special release of the Dunk. You’ve seen “Skunk Dunks”, “Hacky Sack” Dunks, and “Cheech and Chong” Dunks in the past, and now it looks like Nike SB may be going with a pretty straightforward “Hemp” Dunk Low for this year’s weed celebration. The shoe features an all-textile upper (presumably hemp) in a natural shade of light tan with black accents and green and red branding on the tongue and heel. With a release date set for April 15th overseas, it’s a safe bet that this is indeed this year’s 4/20 Dunk, but stay tuned to Sneaker News for confirmation and further details.

Inside HTM: Exploring Nikes Most Exclusive Clique

Since 2002, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield, and Mark Parker have dreamt up thirty-two insane iterations of existing shoes with the core mission of elevating style, function, and most importantly, wearability. They’ve dabbled on true classics like the Air Force 1 and innovative gems like the Flyknit Racer, but true HTM loyalists remember them for Air Wovens, the Macropus, and any other quirky sneaker that to the gen-pop, didn’t really seem to fit in. These limited edition products, most of the time individually numbered, helped fuel the sneaker craze and truly brought the hunt to the global level. Today, HTM is like the cool table in the lunch cafeteria that mystifies those around them, but Nike is ready to break that wall with an untold in-depth interview with the holy triumvirate.

Nike Previews The KD 9 With Miniature Figurine

Remember that mini figurine of the LunarEpic Flyknit we showed you yesterday? Turns out there are different models being made, like Kevin Durant’s upcoming Nike KD 9. The signature shoe that typically doesn’t release until late June or early July looks to be, based on these photos, a low-cut sneaker once again with a deep groove at the lateral forefoot (like the KD 8). Unfortunately, not much else can be discerned from the all-white mold, so stay tuned for more KD 9 details as we approach the official launch a few months from now.

King James Shoots For His Third NBA Championship With The Nike LeBron 13 Elite

“Now that Nike gave me that, I know my shoes are working as hard as I am.”

LeBron James in the NBA Finals? Not quite a headline for the greatest player of our generation. King James is aiming for his sixth straight Finals appearance this June, and it’ll take twelve grueling wins to reach that platform reserved for the players that “want it more” than anybody else. Going along for the ride is the fifth iteration of the LeBron Elite series, the LeBron 13 Elite. For the most finely-tuned LeBron sneaker yet, Nike keeps the postseason-targeted LeBron 13 Elite refreshingly simple in design, almost as if it were an entirely new shoe. The upper bootie features a Kurim cage, an extremely pliable and durable material that acts as the primary lockdown for LeBron’s feet. A massive carbon fiber shank that extends to the ankle provides even more stability and springiness, while the Hex-Zoom cushioning unit adds one more piece for even more support. Gather yourself and flip through the photos just ahead and stay tuned as LeBron James approaches the Playoffs in his quest for a third NBA title.

Nike Rules March Madness In The Past And The Present

Nike March Madness 1 Nike March Madness 2 Nike March Madness 3 Nike March Madness 4 Nike March Madness 5 Nike March Madness 6 Nike March Madness 7 Nike March Madness 8

The Men?s 2016 NCAA College Basketball Tournament is officially ready to get underway and out of the 44 teams in the tournament 69% of them are sponsored by Nike. That goes to show you the type of winning mentality that Nike and the schools that it sponsors both have.

Nike recently took the time to reflect on some of their great athletes that have moved on to play in the NBA. Some of the big names include DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors who earned First Team PAC-10 All-Freshman and PAC-10 Tournament MVP during his time at USC. We also have DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings who’s unique style of play earned him SEC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-SEC honors while at his time with the Kentucky Wildcats. From the Golden State Warriors we have Draymond Green who was named 2012 NABC National Player of the Year, capping off an impressive college career at Michign State that included 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, 80 double-doubles and three conference titles.

To read more about current Nike athletes that still proudly and boldly rep their respective alma mater, head over to nike.com. Who do you think will win the championship this year? Will it be a Nike sponsored school? Leave us your predictions down below.

Nike Kyrie 2 1 Nike Kyrie 2 2 Nike Kyrie 2 3

Last year Nike released the Nike Kyrie 1 Double Nickel that commemorated the game when Irving dropped 55 points against the Blazers. It went on to be one of the most popular colorways that was released of the Kyrie 1.

Kyrie’s best game ever as a pro took place on March 12, 2015 and Nike has created this new Kyrie 2 Ky-reer High almost exactly year later. The Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE Will Get A Retail Release

Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 1 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 2 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 3 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 4 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 5 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 6

The Nike Kyrie 2 released in the Brotherhood colorway a little over a week ago and while we all know that it was an homage to the time that Kyrie Irving spent at Duke, there was never an official connection made by Nike.

Now Nike will be releasing the official Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE that we first previewed two weeks ago. This Duke PE colorway of the Kyrie 2 comes with a Black upper and Game Royal accents on the outsole, the Nike Swoosh on the midfoot strap, and outlining the branding on the tongue and the DUKE name on the heels. The last color seen on the shoe is Reflective silver which appears on the all of the branding areas of the shoe including the DUKE on the heel and the Kyrie logo on the tongue.

You can find the Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE at select Nike retailers on March 19th for a retail price of $120.

Author’s Take

With March Madness kicking off this week the timing for this Duke colorway couldn’t be better. If you’re a fan of Duke then I definitely recommend picking up a pair. I’m not so these will be a pass for me.
