Will Kyrie Irving Wear The Nike Kyrache During The NBA Finals
By SoleInsider
Kyrie Irving is back in the NBA Finals for the second straight season, and many wonder what could’ve been had the All-Star point guard been there past overtime of Game 1 last year thanks to his surprising defense on Steph Curry and ability to finish at the hoop. Now LeBron and company are back and at full strength, so we’re all in for a potentially classic series. But what will Kyrie be wearing on-feet throughout this year’s Finals? While a number of gold-speckled Nike Kyrie 2 PEs are to be expected, the release of the Nike Kyrie 2 “Kyrache” does coincide with the Cavs returning to Cleveland for Game 3. Perhaps Kyrie will get tired of the Finals exclusives and want to lace up the clever pair that references the original colorway of the Nike Air Flight Huarache “Bold Berry” straight from 1992, the year that Irving was born. Check out official photos below and know that the Kyraches will hit retailers on June 7th, 2016 for $120 USD.
The Nike Flyknit Roshe Run is set to be offered in summer-appropriate colorways, as three particular finishes are highlighted.
A mixture of tones define each pair, as one is composed of Voltage Green/Lucid Green, the second in Volt/Total Orange-Black and finally a Photo Blue/University Red-Black iteration.
Dressing its entire intricately woven upper respectively, the vivid palette is nicely complemented with pristine White Swooshes embroidered across the side panels and a full-length phylon sole unit.
Expect these women iterations to drop at Nike retailers in the coming weeks ahead. Stay tuned for updates.
You can’t go wrong with a pair. I’ve been a fan of the silhouette and these offerings are solid for the season. It’s also versatile enough for both males and females.

The Future Of Nike And Jordan Brand Collaborations Is Very Bright
By SoleInsider
If you’ve watched Michael Jordan’s many commercials through the years, you’ll know that he’s a million different things to billions of people. During his prime, he’s been a shoe salesman, a CEO, defender of Earth against crazy sneaker-stealing Martians and a whole lot more. When he retired for good, he became the elder statesman who has been passing on what he’s learned to the next generation and beyond. Remember those commercials in the mid-2000s with Jordan Brand athletes like Eddie Jones and Michael Finley? MJ would still ball in those spots, but he was clearly passing the torch.
Nowadays, MJ is less about the passing the torch and more about making sure everybody remembers who built this house. We’ve talked before about how Jordan Brand has become more of an ideal and less about MJ himself, but it seems like Michael the man – or maybe Nike is nudging him a little – isn’t ready to just fade away from the spotlight and be just the owner of the Charlotte Hornets yet. After all, this is the guy who spawned a trillion memes thanks to his infamous Hall of Fame speech and who gets features written yearly about how he’s a filthy rich man who either has or hasn’t found peace for his competitive fire.
If you’ve been lucky enough to do this line of work for a while, chances are you get a special bounce in your step when you get the opportunity to check out an Air Jordan launch. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a pair of new Air Jordan launches (the XX8 and the XXX) with a slight hope that maybe the guy – besides Tinker Hatfield – who helped make this all possible would be there to show it to us. But nope, MJ is nowhere to be found (of course, he made it to the XX9 launch that I couldn’t go to because ugh…). I’ve seen everybody from Chris Paul to Russell Westbrook to Blake Griffin at various Jordan launches but never the man himself. He’s busy doing other “cooler” things for his brand.
Michael Jordan was there to introduce their Nike Zoom Vapor AJ3 collaboration with Roger Federer; he recently made the trip down to Orlando to watch his son Marcus open his Trophy Room sneaker boutique; and now he’s showing off the Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar with the soccer superstar. Last year he even wore a plain white Supreme shirt – albeit problematically – to promote last year’s most hyped retro release. He might not wear OVO Jordan retros, but signing Drake was no mistake as it turns out. Isn’t it interesting that MJ doesn’t attend all of his new signature shoe launches but when he’s needed to play hype man for a rare drop he’s front and center?
Michael Jordan and his team are pivoting into a space that nobody saw coming, and that’s becoming Tony Bennett. As one of the greatest singers of all-time, Bennett saw a resurgence of popularity in the early 90s as the cool old man with the amazing voice and rather accomplished career. Bennett would collaborate with numerous modern singers and songwriters on classic tunes and new hits which ironically made Bennett even more famous and evergreen than the people he latched on to. To this day, Bennett continues to perform all over the world, saying that “(i)f you are creative, you get busier as you get older.” That totally sounds like something MJ would say. He’s still doing work for the brand he helped create and even though more kids know him today as Crying Jordan, that won’t stop him from creating.
eBay
So what’s next for MJ on the collaborative front? He’s already done tennis, soccer and hypebeasts recently. You could make the argument that he’s already done a collab with Wayne Gretzky and Bo Jackson on that awful Air Jordan 5 Pro Stars shoe, but that sucked and shouldn’t be counted against him (or anybody with taste for that matter). For me, the dream of a Jordan Brand Tiger Woods golf shoe has always been in the back of my mind, but with Tiger barely playing these days, it seems more likely that Rory McIlroy would get the call, especially since former Jordan Brand head Gentry Humphrey is a part of Nike Golf. A trainer with Mike Trout could also be in play. How about something with their huge NFL roster, including the future of the Los Angeles Rams Todd Gurley and Jared Goff? Just when you thought MJ was on his way out of the spotlight, he just decided to carve a new path for himself.
