Today we get a closer look at this upcoming tonal Air Jordan 2 courtesy of icyheatsole. This Air Jordan 2 featured a reptile-textured leather all throughout the upper with red covering essentially every part of the sneaker including the midsole, tongue, inner liner, laces, and outsole. The only hits of contrast come on the Air Jordan branding on the tongue in black and a dash of Hyper Turquoise on the outsole.
The Air Jordan 2 Low Gym Red is expected to release in early April for a retail price of $160. What are your thoughts?
Mistakes Were Made: Remembering The Curious Fits Of The Air Jordan 5 Grape
By SoleInsider
This past weekend, the Air Jordan 12 Dynamic Pink/Valentine’s Day/Vivid Pink/Whatever It’s Pink released to much fanfare. Despite being a GS exclusive, the shoe sold out quickly, with some many already being resold online and idiots doing really dumb things for them. But for every reseller that desperately wants to profit from this unique release because they haven’t been able to eat lately from buying 20 pairs of the Air Jordan 5 Low Dunk From Above, there was another showing their newest cop for the world to see. Like this guy…
Or this crew.
@jaklap
Or this one. Wait, this one’s perfectly fine.
@sandytejada
Or this one by Young Thug. Wait, it’s normal too.
@thuggerhugger1
So it wasn’t the end of the world like some people wanted to make it out to be. Yes, there were people clearly looking to become internet famous by putting on an outrageous outfit to match with their new Js, but there were also those who knew what they were doing and had a style that matched the kicks. As somebody who has several pairs of pink or mostly pink sneakers, it’s not that hard to find jeans and shirts to wear that won’t make me look like a fool.
And besides, all of this is nothing compared to the craziness that was the Air Jordan 5 Grape launch back in 2013. That was brutal on so many levels because it brought together a lot of things that we love and hate to love, like ’90s nostalgia and its counterpart fake ’90s nostalgia to appear cool, purple, teal, the Charlotte Hornets and the Air Jordan 5 itself. It was not the best of times, and I’m not just talking about the quality of the retro themselves. We had to deal with this…
And this.
And this gem. Words can’t describe my disgust admiration for this brave soul.
But then we also got a pre-Reebok Kendrick that makes it work.
And this gem, because #FashionKing.
So what do these Kendrick and Russell pics prove? That the Air Jordan 5 Grape, like the Air Jordan 12 Dynamic Pink, can be a versatile sneaker given the right circumstances. It can be simple or it can be loud, but a big part of it is how comfortable the person is wearing them. If they’re confident, they can pull off either look and not get clowned for it. So go ahead and wear the all-pink everything with matching Js. Just own it and don’t do it for the extra Snapchat and Instagram followers.
New Images Of The Air Jordan 1 High OG David Letterman
By SoleInsider
Jordan Brand will be releasing a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 1 that is inspired by Michael Jordan’s visit to The Late Show With David Letterman fresh off his 63-point playoff performance against the Boston Celtics.
Utilizing the Air Jordan 1 as the silhouette of choice, this Air Jordan 1 is of the high-top and OG variety meaning that it will feature the Nike Air branding on the tongue. The upper is constructed out of a Light Crimson with Midnight Navy detailing appearing on the Swoosh, ankle, tongue, inner liner, “Wings” logo by the ankle and the outsole. A White midsole and University Blue Nike Air branding finish things off on this upcoming colorway of the Air Jordan 1.
You’ll be able to purchase the Air Jordan 1 High OG David Letterman beginning on April 30, 2016 for a retail price of $160. What are your thoughts? Do you plan on picking up a pair?
After watching the Letterman interview video I can see where the color inspiration came from as Michael has on a Crimson jacket with a blue shirt underneath. And also the microphone is sitting in front of Michael throughout the entire interview so it?s essentially always in sight. These will be a pass for me though.

A Better Look At The Air Jordan 2 Low Marquette PE
By SoleInsider
A few days ago we gave you a first look at the Air Jordan 2 Low made exclusively for the men’s basketball team from Marquette University. Today we have even more and better images of the Air Jordan 2 Low Marquette PE.
Being that Marquette is a Jordan Brand affiliate school, they get rewarded with Jordan Brand exclusives. One of the latest perks they were blessed with was the shoe you see above. The Marquette-themed upper comes in a navy blue suede accompanied by the safari print placed on the mudguard of the shoe. Adding a bold touch to the shoe are the yellow accents placed on the heel, eyelets and midsole of the shoe. Marquette’s logo appears on the tongue, while a light shade of blue is used for the laces. The shoe is completed by using a translucent outsole to house the Marquette branding placed inside the outsole. You can look buy you can’t touch as these sneakers are not scheduled to release to the public.
I these were to release, I’d buy them only to customize them and make them in to a Pacers PE. Then again, they are Air Jordan 2 Lows, damn. I wish they were just regular Air Jordan 2s.

Jordan Brand Unveils Air Jordan XXX And Air Jordan 2 Low PEs For Georgetown
By SoleInsider
The Georgetown Hoyas, UNC Tar Heels, California Bears, and Marquette Golden Eagles will rotate sick team-based colorways of the newly unveiled Air Jordan XXX and the recently unearthed Air Jordan 2 Low Retro. This evening, Jordan Brand unveils official images of the Hoyas’ digs, featuring the signature grey and navy colors on these two silhouettes new and old. You can expect all four teams to lace up the Jordan 30 on-court, while swapping for the Air Jordan 2 Low for post-game sessions. Get a detailed look at the PEs for all four schools below and let us know which is your favorite, and check out the rest on the Jordan Brand snapchat account.
‘Tis the season for college basketball PEs. March Madness is almost here which means major college squads that have had a successful regular season effort and poised for a potential Final Four run are being blessed with some awesome player exclusives. Marquette University‘s Jordan Brand connect is coming through in a surprising way this season, ditching the latest Jordan signature model (they did rock the Air Jordan XXX “University Blue” earlier this year though) for the likes of the rarely seen Air Jordan 2 Low. The pair benefits from the use of contrast University Blue piping and laces atop a Midnight Navy base, while the mudguard uses a familiar Safari-like print that subtly blends in while Varsity Maize swipes across the midsole to match the lace eyelets. ‘Nike’ branding surprisingly lands on the outsole instead of ‘Jordan’ while the real attention grabber here is the ‘MU’ logo on the icy backdrop. We’d love to see the Golden Eagles rock this pair come tourney time. What do you think? Check out a better view below and stay tuned for more Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.
The Air Jordan 1 High will have people talking again this summer with the all-new colorway inspired by young Michael Jordan’s appearance on the David Letterman show. The shoe’s colorway is taken from MJ’s shimmery red warm-up outfit worn during his chat with the king of late night talk shows, with a bright red leather upper and metallic navy accents. Mike’s light blue polo shirt worn underneath the jacket is represented by the shade of “Nike Air” on each tongue, while special “On Air” graphics with Dave’s microphone are found on the insoles. Enjoy your best look yet at the “David Letterman” Air Jordan 1 today, and check out the appearance in question below.
Official Images Of The Air Jordan 12 Retro French Blue
By SoleInsider
It’s been 12 years since the “French Blue” Air Jordan 12 last released, but luckily the shoe is returning once again this month. Official photos from Nike reveal that not much has changed for this classic colorway, except for the fact that it now releases under the brand’s recent remastering overhaul of the retro line. In addition, Jordan is bringing back the original shoe box from the first release of the 12 to further add to the nostalgia. 2016 is certainly shaping up to be a renaissance year for the Air Jordan 12, with the iconic “Flu Game” colorway also coming back for Spring. Seeing as how recent releases of the “Master” and “Pink” Air Jordan 12s caused quite a commotion, there’s no doubt that you can expect much of the same from the “French Blue” when they release on March 26th. Check out one of the best looks yet below and stay tuned for more Air Jordan news.
The Air Jordan 2 is back in a big way for 2016, already dropping in the “Radio Raheem” and “Wing It” colorways. We’re still yet to see any sign of a return for any original colorways of the second Air Jordan, but fans of the shoe now have something else to look forward to, especially if you’re a fan of the low-top version. For the first time in years, the Air Jordan 2 Low is making its way back to retail, and it’s guaranteed to catch some attention with this blazing all-red treatment complete with a reptile texture added to the leather upper. The Air Jordan 10 NYC Is The OVO Alternative Youve Been Hoping For (Video)
By SoleInsider
Admit it to yourself, you missed out on the Air Jordan 10 OVO Black and you’re feeling a little left out. The Air Jordan 10 dressed in black and gold is such a classic look that really, it could be a great sneaker with or without the OVO branding. Well, Jordan Brand must have heard your concerns because they will be dropping a tribute to New York City as part of their new City Pack for the summer. It’s a black and gold pair without any Drake-related iconography. If you missed out and love the colorway but don’t care for the OVO hype, this is one you can’t miss.
The Air Jordan 9 Low coming in a Black and White colorway is set to release this Spring as a part of Jordan Brand’ Spring/Summer 2016 offerings. The moment that this Air Jordan 9 Low was unveiled it drew a lot of similarities to the Air Jordan 9 Low PE that was created especially for ex-NBA player Derek Anderson. The low-top version of the Air Jordan 9 will come constructed out of a black leather upper paired up with tonal snakeskin texture placed on the overlay of the mudguard and heel. The tonal black look of the upper is then contrasted by the hits of red found on the lining as well as in the branding hits found on the tongue and heel of the shoe. Rounding out the look of the shoe is the white placed on the rubber outsole component of the shoe.
Juan Carrillo – News: I can definitely see the Air Jordan 9 Low doing better than the Air Jordan 5 Low. Coming in a black and red colorway doesn’t hurt either. Not to mention the faux-snakeskin placed on the upper. Not a bad looking shoe.
Release Date: Wishful Thinking Price: Whatever It Takes (Although It Will Probably $500)
There are rumors circulating that we could be seeing Jordan Brand release a special pack in honor of the Black Mamba. This Air Jordan Kobe Pack would include two Air Jordan PE Laker colorways that Kobe wore back when he was a sneaker free agent in 2002-2003. The first sneaker would be the Air Jordan 3 and the second would be the Air Jordan 8. Both will come with predominantly white uppers and accent colors inspired by the Lakers. The rumored price for the pack is $500.
Make sure you keep it locked to Kicks On Fire for developing details on this potential release.
Juan Carrillo, News: If I were a Kobe Bryant fan I would NEED these. To be able to own two exclusive Air Jordans that were worn by Kobe over 10 years ago would be amazing. $500 is kind of steep though.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: I will trade most – I can’t give away my 3s or 12s – of my Jordan retros if it means I’m guaranteed several pairs of the Air Jordan 3 Kobe. It’s basically the end all and be all of retros for me and if I can own just one, my desire to buy anything retro afterwards will diminish significantly.
The Air Jordan 4 PRM Snakeskin is set to be a part of the premium collection that Jordan Brand plans on releasing this year. This version of the Air Jordan 4 will come in a premium upper consisting of a full snakeskin upper done up in white, pure platinum an wolf grey colorway. The snakeskin motif is then paired up with a light bone premium tumbled leather placed on the overlays, wings and tongue. A tonal leather lining appears to be in use to further increase the premium feel of the shoe. Another noticeable feature are the copper metal hits placed on the eyelets and heel of the shoe. Completing the major features of the shoe is the all-white sole unit seen below. Rumored to be limited to only 5,000 pairs, there’s a good chance that these will fly off the shelves regardless of the price tag attached to it.
Juan Carrillo, News: Eh, I don’t know man. I like premium and luxury looking sneakers, but these appear to be doing too much. $400 is a tough pill to swallow especially on a sneaker that has “faux snakeskin leather” opposed to real snakeskin leather.
The Li-Ning Way of Wade 4 Pink Origami Is The Latest WoW 4 Drop
Marquette University recently showed off their own PE version of the Air Jordan 2 Low. Now it’s North Carolina’s turn to let us know they’re also worthy of getting their own Air Jordan 2 Low.
This Air Jordan 2 Low UNC PE comes dressed in a baby blue suede upper accented by the hits of white and black throughout the shoe. Adding to the UNC theme is the graphic lining and the large UNC logo placed on tongue of the shoe. Is this better than the Marquette pair? Let us know in the comments below.
The shoe is cool, being that I’m not a fan of the baby blue upper, I would have made the shoe white and use the baby blue as the contrasting accent color.
