The Air Jordan 13 Slides Are Back
By SoleInsider
This past Christmas weekend was a huge time for the Air Jordan 13 retro as Jordan Brand announced their annual Christmas Day PE Collection as inspired by the Air Jordan 13 OG “True Red”. The Jumpman also announced that that exact pair featuring the iconic holographic panther eye branding would be returning to retailers in remastered form on February 18th, 2017. But just in case you can’t get enough of Michael Jordan’s black cat inspired signature model, Jordan Brand just released two new colorways of the Air Jordan 13 Hydro Slides in an all-black-everything aesthetic and that coveted True Red look.
The bolstered Air Jordan 13 Hydro Slides feature that circular holographic branding on the side, a tumbled leather upper with circular stitching to mirror the Air Jordan 13 retro, and a comfortable beaded footbed to help massage your feet whether on the beach or after an on-court workout. Check out both colorways below and know that you can purchase your favorite colorway via Politics for $58 USD.
Kawhi Leonard might have rocked the Air Jordan 31 on Christmas Day, but the real show stopper was what the San Antonio Spurs All-Star wore during his time off the court. It’s no secret that Jordan Brand has been more experimental with the Air Jordan 11 lately with the return of ’45’ PE branding on the Space Jam 11s and new material constructions like the Suede Jordan 11s and the grade school Red Velvet Jordan 11s. But could we potentially see an all metallic Air Jordan 11 Gold in the future? Reporter Jabari Young was lucky enough to snap an on-foot photo of this exclusive pair on Christmas Day and the results are rather hypnotizing. What do you think of Kawhi’s Air Jordan 11 Gold PE? Check out a full view below and head over to our Air Jordan Release Dates page for a better look at what Jordan Brand has in store for the new year.
Air Jordan 5 Flight Jacket Sample In White Surfaces
By SoleInsider
Last week, Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Jordan Flight Jack Collection which features a reconstructed Air Jordan 5 Retro in olive and tan tones. It appears that a white leather version of that shoe has surfaced, although it is unclear if this alternate version will ever come to release. It features the same premium leather upper with tan hits on the tongue and midsole, but the laser-cut “netting” on the upper is a completely different pattern from the olive pair. What do you think about this colorway? Stay tuned for updates.
Additional views of the forthcoming Air Jordan 12 CNY is featured, which is essentially a special rendition of the silhouette in celebration of Chinese New Year.
Draped in timeless palette of black and white, reminiscent of the AJ 12 Taxi — white leather covers the majority of its upper, which also bears a 3M reflective overlay that activates when exposed to flash. Textured black leather covers the mudguard and heel tab, as well as woodgrain detailing adorning the miniature branded side panels and the top two upper eyelets.
Other notable details include Chinese text of ???? evidenced on the tongues, which translates to ’20’ — in reference to Jordan Brand’s presence in the Chinese market — in addition to clear pods on the outsole.
Priced at $250, you can purchase this pair at select JB and Nike retailers on January 28th ? Chinese New Year.

Our First Look At The Jordan B.Fly, Jordan Brands Newest Lifestyle Model
By SoleInsider
Are a fan of Jordan Brand but are looking to pick up something new aside from retros. Take a look at the Jordan B.Fly. The Jordan B.Fly is Jordan Brand’s newest lifestyle offering derived/inspired from current models such as the Air Jordan 29 and Air Jordan 11. Let’s get a closer look.
Right off the bat you can see that the shoe’s upper take cues from the Air Jordan 29 by utilizing the same Flyweave upper as well as the same heel lines that house the “2” and “3”. Below you will find a modernized Air Jordan 11-like sole unit that has an overall sleeker look to it. Jumpman branding is placed on the lateral side of the heel, while tonal laces and a transulcent outsole round out the look of the shoe. Out now, pick up either colorway you see above for the retail price of $110. What do you think? Does it have potential? Let us know in the comments below.
The Air Jordan 6 GS Purple Dynasty Closes Out 2016
By SoleInsider
Two different Air Jordan 6s will be closing out 2016, the Black Cat pair and this Purple Dynasty colorway.
Labeled as a GS-exclusive colorway, this Air Jordan 6 features purple on essentially the entire sneaker, including the suede upper, tongue, inner liner, laces, branding, midsole, and even the outsole. The only contrast comes with subtle hits of white on the midsole/outsole and the Jumpman logo on the lace lock.

Maroon Snakeskin Hits Russell Westbrooks Jordan Shoe
By SoleInsider
Russell Westbrook’s latest lifestyle sneaker keeps dropping in impressive new looks into the new year with this snakeskin-covered Westbrook 0.2 in burgundy. The exotic yet refined colorway features its entire multi-paneled upper that’s loosely inspired by the Air Jordan 7 in tonal burgundy with a snakeskin texture embossed into the suede. The Air Jordan 1 KO (or Nike Vandal) sole contrasts in bright white, while leather laces add a special touch. The burgundy Westbrook 0.2 is arriving now at select Jordan Brand retailers like Sneaker Politics, and should also hit Nike.com soon.
The Air Jordan 6 Black Cat will cap off Jordan Brand?s holiday 2016 lineup, as it’s set to debut on New Year’s Eve.
Sporting a stealthy black leather composition with enlarged perforations to promote sufficient ventilation — the perforated portion also bears a reflective element to increase its visibility in low-lit conditions, and it?s activated when exposed to flash.
This variation is also contrasted with pristine white accents gracing the midsole unit and Jumpman branding, while a graphic of its respective theme is also evident on the insoles.
Retailing for $190, you can purchase this pair at select Nike and JB stockists on Saturday, December 31st, 2016.

It looks like Jordan Brand is planning on releasing more than one colorway of the Air Jordan 5 Take Flight. We’ve gone over the Black/Sequoia pair but today is the first time we’ve seen this White and Gold pair.
As of right now, the Air Jordan 5 you see above is said to be the sample version, so there’s a good chance some kind of tweaking can be done on the shoe. For now, the shoe comes in a off-White leather upper complimented by the weave pattern on the paneling. Other features include the Flight lace lock, the the Gold colored lace tips and the Gold noted on the midsole. Below you will find a translucent outsole that has kind of an aged/yellow look to it. Embossed Jumpman branding on the tongue and heel give the shoe a clean look and feel. Stay tuned to find out when Jordan Brand gives us a release date,
The Air Jordan 5 Take Flight Sequoia Drops In February
By SoleInsider
Not too long ago we got word that the Air Jordan 5 Take Flight Sequoia you see above is a part of an upcoming Jordan Brand collection dubbed the Take Flight collection. Jordan Brand released official imagery of their Take Flight Spring 2017 collection, which also includes the AJ 15 Stealth and AJ 8 Sequoia. This particular pair from the collection takes cues from the P51 flight bomber jacket. Let’s get a closer look at the shoe.
Opting to go for more of a lifestyle look, the Air Jordan 5 Take Flight is done in a premium suede/nubuck upper in a Dark Olive colorway. Adding contrast to the shoe is the Tan hits noted on the tongue. The netting/mesh design usually found on the panels is actually cut into the base of the shoe. Waxed rope laces and an icy translucent outsoles round out the look. Are you feeling this look on the Air Jordan 5? How much do you think Jordan Brand will price these at?
Make sure you follow the Air Jordan 5 Tan Tongue (Take Flight) hub page to stay up to date with all the info and details regarding this upcoming release.
We are in the final week of 2016 and our next feature for #KoFBestOf2016 takes a look at the Top 10 Air Jordans that dropped this year. Unlike the typical hypebeast who might just pick the usual suspects and call it a day, we uh, picked the usual suspects (and a few surprises and non-retros) and called it a day.
Air Jordan 12 Wings
Nike
Even without the gold wings that become visible after a few wears (or a few viscous rubdowns), the Air Jordan 12 Wings cracks the top 10 by taking a winning formula (the Air Jordan 12 Playoffs) and adding some gold accents to it. Originally believed to be a Macklemore PE, proceeds from the sale benefited the WINGS charity that was initiated by Jordan Brand to help foster creativity and empowerment to children and schools around the world.
Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard
Nike
How do you top a Jordan that many consider to be the best new retro to come out in many years? By dropping a sequel that doesn’t stray far from what makes it great. While 2015’s Air Jordan 1 Shattered Backboard borrows elements from a few classics like the Black Toe and Royal pairs, the Alternate edition that came out this year uses the iconic Chicago colorway as an inspiration. What was once red is now orange and with that you’ve the makings of another hit. While it didn’t capture the hearts and minds of the sneaker community like the original, this will be one release that won’t be soon forgotten.
Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Beach
Nike
All the credit in the world goes to Don C for unlocking the full potential of the Air Jordan 2. This was the year when we saw Jordan Brand really step up their Premium/Pinnacle initiative, releasing classic Jordan models and remixing them with luxury materials, not to mention luxury price points, that look more at home at a Bloomingdale’s than a Foot Locker. While some Jordans looked so out of place it was kind of embarrassing, it was the Air Jordan 2 – a shoe that was designed with luxury in mind – that set the bar high with two collabs with from the Chicago native. It was so high that no other PRM retro made the list.
Air Jordan XXX Cosmos
English Sole
To show you how far we’ve come in a single year, it was back in January that we were just talking about the Air Jordan XXX. It hasn’t even been a full cycle since and we’re already through a handful of Air Jordan XXX1 releases. The consensus among those who attended the launch of the XXX was that despite the tech benefits, the shoe’s design felt like it was rushed through the process in order to get it out the door and make way for the XXX1. One release of the XXX that shouldn’t be forgotten is the Cosmos colorway, which was worn by Russell Westbrook during the 2016 NBA All-Star Game and dropped in obscenely limited numbers as part of Jordan Brand’s Quai 54 Collection.
Air Jordan XXX1 Black Cat
Nike
I can’t stand the Jumpman on the XXX1. If the design document of the XXX1’s mission was to reboot the franchise and start from the Air Jordan 1 again, then that shoe should not have the Jumpman on it. I felt that giant MJ silhouette actually detracted from the shoe and the Wings logo should have more prominence. The PRM that was first revealed by DJ Clark Kent actually was the answer to my sneaker prayers as we not only got a premium take with the suede and leather upper but it got rid of the Jumpman and relegated it to the sockliner and back tongue tab.
Air Jordan 3 True Blue
Kicks On Fire
Right now, you can go online or walk into any big box retailer and come away with a pair of the Air Jordan 3 True Blue without zero hassle. That shouldn’t sound crazy at all, but the fact that one of the most beloved Jordan silhouettes of all time in one of its most popular colorways and was brought back as close to the OG standard (we all know a true 1:1 remake is impossible or way too cost prohibitive) is still available a month after it came out is a true sign that things really have changed for Jordan Brand and their stature in the community. Now it will be really interesting to see where it goes once the price drops. It might be time to call a red alert in Beaverton if you can still buy True Blues for less than $160.
Air Jordan 1 Banned
Nike
This should always be the de facto #1, but the colorways comes out so often that it just isn’t fair to the rest of the field, so it lands safely at the #4 position where we don’t really need to rehash everything that’s so great about this shoe and how it launched a revolutio… ah, shut up already, Juan.
Air Jordan 11 Space Jam
Nike
How crazy is it that we now live in a world where a straight-up trade between this year’s Air Jordan 11, a “Space Jam” release, and 2013’s maligned Gamma Blue colorway would be unfair for the side that owns the Gamma Blue? That’s a sign of a few things: just how many 2016 Space Jams there are out in the wild, the backlash from the design of the shoe and the apathy from retros in general. But should the aftermarket value discourage you from copping a pair? Hell no, because while this isn’t the actual Space Jam sneaker that Michael Jordan wore in the movie, it is the PE that he wore when he first came back to the NBA. The cut on the patent leather overlay might be weird to some, but the “45” on the heel makes it all worthwhile.
Air Jordan Kobe Pack
No, the Air Jordan Kobe Pack did not get a retail release in 2016 (we’re still hoping for 2017 though…), but enough friends and family and influencers received the pack that it would be foolish for us to ignore how great the pack really was. The Air Jordan 3 and 8 were done up in the same style and colors as the PEs that Kobe Bryant received during his epic season of sneaker free agency and those were lucky enough to be seeded the pack also came away with an epic Jordan Brand x Kobe box that makes me cry every time I see it. I have a thing for boxes, don’t judge…
Air Jordan 12 Flu Game
Kicks On Fire
Jordan Brand actually had the nerve to put together a pop-up shop for the release of the Flu Game 12s in Salt Lake City. But then again, if some unscrupulous pizza delivery guys messed with my meal and gave me food poisoning the night before a big game (allegedly), I would be petty as hell too and open a pop-up shop highlighting one of my greatest achievements in the city where it happened. Not only that, I would release the shoe that I wore on that day and try to make it as close to the original as possible without the stupid emojis or suede uppers so that those kids who saw me play the game of my (literal) life can something to remember it by. And that level of competitiveness that borders on insane levels of pettiness is why we had to name the Air Jordan 12 Flu Game the best Jordan retro of the year. #TeamPetty
As suggested, a stealthy black leather composition with enlarged perforations to promote sufficient ventilation comprises its overall upper. The perforated portion also bears a reflective element to increase its visibility in low-lit conditions, and it’s activated when exposed to flash.
Unlike the all-black AJ 3 and AJ 4 renditions ? this variation is contrasted with pristine white accents gracing the midsole unit and Jumpman branding. Although not shown in this gallery, a graphic of its respective theme is also placed on the insoles.
Priced at $190, you can buy a pair at select Nike and JB stockists on Saturday, December 31st, 2016.

Hints Of The Air Jordan 11 In This New Jordan Brand Lifestyle Model
By SoleInsider
Just like the Future, another lifestyle shoe from Jordan Brand takes some inspiration from the Air Jordan 11 with this new model dubbed the B. Real. Also seeming to take some cues from the Air Jordan 29 with a Flyweave upper and similar shape to the heel lines?which are leather on the B. Real?the Air Jordan 11’s sole design is mirrored in a modern, streamlined way. The B. Real debuts in the two grey and black colorways you see here, and is arriving now at select Jordan retailers like Renarts.
Listed as a women?s exclusive, the basketball sneaker is defined by a monochromatic makeover, consisting of dark purple essentially covering its entire nubuck upper. The subdued shade continues towards its midsole unit, tongue, laces, inner lining and heel tab — while the tonal hue is juxtaposed against a translucent white outsole, capping off the simplistic color scheme.
Priced at $140, you can purchase this upcoming variation at select JB and Nike stockists starting Friday, December 30th.
