?I grew up a sneakerhead in Seoul and I wanted to create a shoe that pays homage to the creative energy of the city. Now is the perfect time, building on the momentum of the winter games and the love Korean consumers have for Jordan Brand,? says Sunwoo.

The Taegukgi (Korean flag) inspires the shoe?s overall color scheme, with the ?taeguk? symbol expressed through the lining and collar?s Blue and Red and the White upper representing peace and purity (as it does on the flag). ?? (Seoul) is featured on the left inner tongue, while the 1988 summer games motto ??? ?? (Harmony and Progress) is featured on the right inner tongue. The heel reads ?Nike Air? in a clear nod to the original Air Jordan 3.

The Air Jordan 3 Seoul will go on sale March 10 on nike.com.kr and at the Jordan Hongdae store.

It is the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 3 in 2018, so you can expect to see the silhouette in a number of iterations throughout the rest of the year. With the 2018 Winter Olympic Games now concluded in South Korea, Jordan Brand has just unveiled a special Air Jordan 3 Korea edition to pay homage to the basketball culture in Korea. The model was first seen on South Korea FIBA coach Jae Hur, and features a White Cement theme but in South Korean colors instead through the Taegukgi flag seen on the right tongue and ?Seoul? in Korean embroidered on the back left tongue. Elephant print detailing are applied on the toe and heel areas, while Nike Air branding on the heel completes the design altogether.

It was rumored back in April that the Air Jordan 12 Taxi would return for Jordan Brand’s holiday 2017 collection but that never actually happened. Now official images of the 2018 version have leaked and new sources point to a release in March instead. This classic silhouette basically made its debut in 1996, then retroed in 2008, and last seen back in 2013. The shoe is covered in white leather for its upper with black used for its textured overlays, inner liner, heel and outsole. More hits of yellow, black and red are also seen on the heels and outsole to go with the taxi-inspired theme, while gold upper eyelets complete the design altogether.
